| Bio: | A former ballet dancer & teacher, fluent in several languages, Susannah Eanes works as a land use planning consultant part-time and volunteers as a living history interpreter at historic sites throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. She writes short stories and poems, as well as non-fiction articles and novels. She serves as editor of Hanging Out!, the newsletter for Project Laundry List, and is actively involved in cultural, environmental, and historic preservation in both her personal and professional life.
Susannah is a recovering bulimic and victim of abuse, and was diagnosed with systemic lupus over a decade ago. Much of her fiction, poetry, and essays were written as therapy. Creativity is how she has coped with these difficulties - but don't go looking for descriptions of abuse or pages of angst, even though much of it is autobiographical. Susannah's prose is lyrical, her poetry profoundly introspective, her essays direct and unapologetic. She illustrates a world as it should be, built on the strength of past lessons. Her message is that we can all learn from our own and each other's mistakes, and that there is equal good for evil in the world. We can learn to survive the evil and be a beacon for those who seek the good. And that love will out... love is what separates us from death itself.
