this started out mainly for blacklid, but of course, some of my voyeuristic frenz thought this would make a nice meme. and not too long ago Writers' Digest had an interesting article on the writing spaces of famous writers, and i found it fascinating to see how simple most of them were.

not sure why, of course, 'cuz all you need is a pen, some paper, and a place to be.

i finally did it - have removed myself from all the beta communities as of this morning. if you are on my f-list and/or sent me something in the past couple of days to beta, i am on it and can/will still beta for you as time allows. but since i am a committed member of nostairway as a technical screener, and the health has ceased to cooperate, not to mention RL and the fact that at any given moment i have several works of my own in progress, i needed to do this. sorry if anyone was planning to use me in the future. i'm sure there are lots of other good betas out there who will be glad to help - check out spn_beta and fandom_betas for that.

of course, the way to ensure that i DON'T do something, is to say i WILL do it. or even that i will TRY HARD to do it.

The RUG stands for "Really Unknown Group." It is a very eclectic poetry group that I've belonged to for several years. We started posting at this blog about a month or so ago. At some point we'll get the older stuff, that was distributed solely by emails, up there. It's kind of awesome.

In honor thereof, I am going to try to post a poem a day - but with a twist. There are alot of peeps on my flist who are doing just that, but by their favorite poets.

I'ma gonna be egotistical and share things I wrote with you. See. First I was a poet, then a short story writer, and then I wrote articles and plays. I started a novel and finally completed it after 18 years. I'm working on 5 others. And you all know about the fanfic both here and at my other LJ... so. Some of these are pretty old, some i'll link to at my blog, still. You may find them interesting or amusing or meh. Concrit is always welcome!

I was NOT going to post today - but then I read this fic.

You see that little list of awesome people down the left-hand side of my LJ?

That list is of people who have touched my soul, who have totally made me cry, or squee, who have reached out thru the blind oblivion of vapor-like connections that is the internetz and made me believe they are real, honest to god human beings.

I must update that list.

This is a woman I've only known for a few weeks. She lives on the other side of the planet - but she has touched my heart so many, many times now I jump every time I see her name on the screen. how are you guys? i busied the time i'd normally have been LJ'ing on myspace and blogging today.

i have to say, i kinda think maybe that was a good thing. (hi all you myspace peeps from LJ!)

pimping the dean_layla community this morning, 'cuz AWESOME. lots of new art, wallpapers, and a new fic or two have been posted in the past week.

there's always lots to love about dean and layla, even if you only see them as good friends. plus, sam says you should totally check out dean_layla, he's their biggest fan. he'll even go get you a soft drink from the machine while you step over and spend some quality time with them!
